DIAS Board Sets Strategic Direction for 2026/27

Yesterday the DIAS Board recently came together for its annual Strategy Day kindly hosted by Digisky, Payerne, taking time away from day-to-day activities to reflect on the progress made over the past year and define a clear roadmap for the future of the Swiss drone ecosystem.

The session brought together board members from across the industry to review our achievements, challenge our priorities and, most importantly, translate our strategy into a practical action plan for the year ahead.

Building on the foundations established during the previous strategy cycle, the Board reviewed the 2025/26 Strategic House before undertaking a collaborative Keep, Start, Stop exercise. This allowed us to identify what has worked well, where we can improve, and which new initiatives will create the greatest value for our members and the wider ecosystem.

A Clearer Strategic Focus

One of the key outcomes of the day was the evolution and simplification of the DIAS Strategic House, providing greater clarity around the association’s priorities for 2026/27.

Our focus will centre on four strategic pillars:

• Driving the Swiss Drone Ecosystem – strengthening collaboration across industry, government, academia and operators to support a thriving national drone sector.
• Education & Information – delivering high-value events, expert insights and knowledge sharing that help members stay informed and connected.
• Regulatory Engagement – continuing to work constructively with regulators and key stakeholders to ensure Switzerland remains at the forefront of safe and innovative drone operations.
• Political Influence – increasing engagement with policymakers to promote the economic and societal value of drone technology and help shape a supportive environment for future growth.

Turning Strategy into Action

A major objective of this year’s Strategy Day was to move beyond strategic discussion and develop a comprehensive action plan with clear ownership and accountability.

Each strategic priority has now been translated into practical initiatives, allowing the Board to track progress throughout the year and provide greater transparency to our members.

The Board also agreed on enhanced ways of working that will improve collaboration, communication and decision-making across the association, enabling DIAS to operate more effectively as it continues to grow.

Looking Ahead

The Swiss drone industry continues to evolve rapidly, presenting exciting opportunities across public safety, infrastructure, logistics, inspection, agriculture, research and many other sectors.

DIAS remains committed to bringing together manufacturers, operators, software providers, service companies, regulators, researchers and public organisations to help shape the future of this growing industry.

As we begin the 2026/27 strategic cycle, we are excited to work alongside our members and partners to strengthen the Swiss drone ecosystem, increase engagement across the industry, and continue positioning Switzerland as a global leader in drone innovation.
