Strengthening European Collaboration

Last week, the DIAS board had the pleasure of meeting with Julie Garland, President of JEDA (Joint European Drone Association), to reinforce our collaboration and advance our common effort to ensure that the voices of our members are heard at the European level.

This meeting provided an excellent opportunity to deepen the relationship between our associations and to focus on how we can better serve our members by engaging with policymakers and regulators across Europe.

Topics discussed during the exchange included:

  • The structure of JEDA and how DIAS contributes to it as the Swiss national association.
  • The representation of DIAS members within JEDA and their active involvement in working groups.
  • Improving communication channels between JEDA, DIAS, and our members, ensuring that information flows transparently and accessibly.
  • Future plans, goals, and vision that both associations share to strengthen Europe’s drone ecosystem.

JEDA’s Vision – and How DIAS Aligns

JEDA’s vision is to act as the unified voice of the European drone industry, bringing together national associations under one umbrella to represent the interests of thousands of companies, innovators, and operators across the continent. Its focus lies in ensuring balanced regulation, fair market access, and sustainable growth for the drone sector in Europe.

At DIAS, we fully align with this vision. As the Swiss association, we see our role as twofold:

  1. Advocating for our members at the European level by contributing their perspectives to JEDA’s working groups and strategic discussions.
  2. Bringing European insights back home, ensuring that Swiss drone companies remain informed, connected, and influential in shaping the future of the industry.

This alignment ensures that DIAS members not only have a strong voice in Switzerland but also in Brussels, where many of the most important policy decisions are made.

Looking Ahead

By reinforcing our partnership with JEDA, DIAS is committed to:

  • Ensuring our members’ concerns and innovations are represented in European debates.
  • Building bridges between Swiss and European stakeholders to foster collaboration.
  • Supporting a more harmonised, competitive, and future-proof drone industry across Europe.

Together with JEDA and our members, we are building a stronger European drone ecosystem by aligning our efforts and amplifying the voice of the drone industry.
