Swiss Drone Day: Bringing Industry, Regulation, and Innovation Together

The Drone Industry Association Switzerland (DIAS) is pleased to share further details on this month’s Swiss Drone Day, a key event bringing together industry leaders, regulators, and innovators from across the Swiss drone ecosystem.
As the industry continues to grow, so too does the need for open dialogue, collaboration, and alignment—particularly around airspace usage, regulation, and market development. Swiss Drone Day is designed to address exactly these topics.
Morning Session
Swiss Airspace Forum: How to Share a Limited Resource
🕘 09:30 – 12:00
Airspace is becoming one of the most critical—and contested—resources in the development of drone operations.
Why attend?
Our industry is under increasing pressure from incumbent airspace users. This session offers a unique opportunity to:
- Understand what is changing in Swiss airspace regulation
- Ask questions directly to policymakers
- Raise concerns from an operational and commercial perspective
- Engage in meaningful dialogue with key stakeholders
Who will be there?
We are delighted to confirm the participation of:
- Larissa Haas, Policy Coordinator (Technology & Innovation Unit) at the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA), who will provide a status update on U-space, a key enabler for scalable drone operations in Switzerland and across Europe
- Patrick Lelievre, Expert in Policy and Rulemaking, who will discuss FASST in Switzerland
What will be discussed?
The session will cover a range of critical topics, including:
- e-Conspicuity technologies
- Drone test sites
- Regulatory initiatives
- Airspace access and coordination
This is a must-attend forum for anyone involved in drone operations, policy, or innovation.
👉 Open to non-members (CHF 125 fee) – we encourage members to invite partners and clients.
Afternoon Session
Industry Perspective Talks
🕒 15:15 – 17:00
Following the regulatory discussions in the morning, the afternoon shifts focus to the industry perspective.
Based on submissions received, this session will be structured around two key themes:
- Industry Trends & Opportunities – Follow the Money
- Where is the market heading?
- Which sectors are scaling fastest?
- Where are the real commercial opportunities?
- Challenges – From Supply Chain to Public Acceptance
- Supply chain constraints
- Regulatory friction
- Public perception and trust
- Operational bottlenecks
This session is designed to be interactive, practical, and forward-looking, giving members the chance to share insights, challenges, and opportunities directly with peers.
Call for Speakers
There is still an opportunity to contribute.
If you would like to participate as a speaker or panellist in either session, please reach out to the DIAS team or use the registration link to submit your interest.
