Thank You, Manu – Celebrating a True Enabler of the Swiss Drone Industry

After eight years at the helm of INVOLI, Manu Lubrano has announced that he is stepping down as CEO and preparing for the next chapter in his professional journey. At DIAS, we could not let this moment pass without recognising Manu’s remarkable contributions to the Swiss drone ecosystem – and to our association.
A Founding Spirit and Industry Builder
Manu is well known to many across our sector as the co-founder and driving force behind INVOLI, a company that has grown from a small Swiss start-up into an internationally respected player in aviation technology. Under his leadership, INVOLI became a pioneer in low-altitude surveillance data and an essential contributor to the U-space framework, helping to demonstrate how digital infrastructure can enable safe, scalable drone operations in shared airspace.
Leadership at DIAS
Beyond his company, Manu gave his time and energy to the wider community. As former President of the Drone Industry Association Switzerland, he played a decisive role in the growth and consolidation of our association. His leadership helped transform DIAS from a young organisation into the established industry voice it is today.
During his tenure, Manu worked tirelessly to strengthen the relationship between DIAS and the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA). Thanks to his efforts, DIAS is now seen as a constructive and trusted partner in shaping regulation – a vital achievement for our entire industry.
A True Enabler
Manu has always been more than an innovator. He has been an enabler – someone who actively supports collaboration, brings people together, and creates the conditions for others to succeed. His energy, his vision, and yes, his good humour have left a mark on all of us who have had the privilege of working alongside him.
Looking Ahead
While Manu’s next chapter remains to be written, one thing is certain: the Swiss drone industry is stronger because of his contributions. The progress made in areas such as U-space, regulatory dialogue, and international recognition owes much to his leadership and persistence.
On behalf of the entire DIAS community: thank you, Manu. We wish you the very best in your next adventure, and we look forward to seeing how you will continue to shape the future of aviation and technology.
